Visit to Saskatoon, Canada

I visited Saskatoon for a week to present a combined lecture and performance, and to guest lecture in four classes on art, transnational feminism, pedagogy and culture jamming. My hosts, particularly Alex Wilson and Marie Lovrod, were extraordinary. My perspectives on state violence against Indigenous bodies of the Americas were further informed by Indigenous students deeply impacted by the murder of Colten Boushie and subsequent acquittal of his murderer. While I was in Saskatoon to speak about 21st century techno-colonialism, I was also there to listen, to learn, and to engage further on decolonizing initiatives. I am grateful to the students for their generous interactions with me. Here, a picture with Marie Lovrod, Alex Wilson, and Manuela Valle-Castro. Photograph by Robert Francos.
