I have been designing websites for artists and organizations since the late 1990s and am familiar with legacy systems, including html hand coding, Dreamweaver, Flash, CGI and more. Since then, I have learned many of the new Content Management Systems (CMS) that use Responsive Design - web pages that resize seamlessly between phones, tablets, and larger computer monitors. I have trained and worked on WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and more; learned WordPress’ php language, and have created websites on Squarespace, GoDaddy, and more.

I can work with you to create a new website or update an existing legacy website, through a comprehensive process that includes:

• Initial contact to discuss your vision of how you want to share your work.

• Completely new design, or assessment of your existing website pages, images, text, look and feel, options for migration, and best interface to use.

• Estimate of costs with varying options and sliding scale, development of contract with all work specified.

• When approved, develop new site, work with you on review of final drafts, complete all uploads and technical steps (404 pages, password protected pages, training, and more - as needed).

I was trained in copyediting and writing in my doctoral program, and work with a very experienced copyeditor and writer on copyediting for artists and academics. Together, we provide the following services:

• Preliminary read through of project to grasp the scope of the manuscript, familiarize ourselves with language, terms, and the voice of author. Develop an estimate of costs.

• Detailed copyediting with work on grammar; writing mechanics; section, paragraph, and sentence structure; removing redundancies and wordiness; improving clarity; and more as needed.

• Confirming information, sources, adding detailed comments and questions, and proofreading as needed.

I provide technical advice to artists and clients who need help understanding the technological options available for the projects they want to work on. After a discussion on the aims of the project, I draw on my extensive knowledge of technological interfaces, platforms, and components; research and prepare an evaluation of the different technical approaches, options, benefits, issues, and costs. This saves artists a lot of time and even more money.

I have worked with artists who have sunk thousands of dollars into apps or interactive electronics, with no tangible results. Without a technical advisor, artists sometimes cannot manage these aspects and budgets spiral out of control, and deadlines are extended until the project is abandoned.

This can all avoided! I have extensive training in online solution systems, electronics, coding, programming, and much more.
