  • Cesar Chavez Branch of Oakland Public Library 3301 E 12th St #271 Oakland, CA 94601 USA (map)

DUE TO THE EXTREME RISK OF COMMUNITY SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS, THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED.

The César E. Chávez Branch of the Oakland Public Library in Fruitvale is hosting a Techno-Tamalada in their Huerta de Dolores garden. We will be sharing how to make vegan versions of African American Hot Tamales of the Mississippi Delta and Mexican tamales, and sharing food, dialogue and ideas on the technologies we want in our lives and in the Bay Area.

This event is free. This branch has a Seed Lending Library. Anyone, with or without a library card, is welcome to come in and check-out seeds. If possible, you let some of the plants go to seed and return some of these next generation seeds for others to borrow. There are no fines if you are unable to return the seeds!

The César E. Chávez Branch is fully bilingual offering information services and collections in Spanish and English. It is located on the second floor of the corner building on East 12th Street, on the same block as the Fruitvale BART Station. You enter the building and take the elevator up one floor. It is wheelchair accessible.

Please join us learning how to make tamales and sharing your knowledge about resurgence!!!
